Promoting peace
We foster understanding and interaction between people of different backgrounds and cultures. We take action to support refugees and train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict.
Rotary refuses to accept conflict as a way of life. We invest in peace education, build capacity, foster relationships across divides, and integrate peacebuilding across our programmes.
Our members address the underlying causes of conflict — poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, limited access to education and unequal distribution of resources — through service projects and fellowships. When people work to create peace in their own communities, that change can have a global effect.
